Q2 Changes
There have been a number of recent changes, both to the web site and our business model.
Website Changes
We have moved much of the information previously held in the Info Centre to our main pages. We felt that the information was difficult to find and wanted to present a more process oriented flow of information to you. Hopefully you can now select to view pages based on the task you want help with, whether to source a boat, import a boat or just get up to speed with CE marking.
We have also removed the BoatSource option/pages as we can no longer be directly involved with the purchase transaction for imported craft (unless there is no CE related work).
We have included support for US vendors to try and make it easier and more effective for them to market craft to an international, rather than US-centric audience.
Business Model
We believe that you, our customers, want a full end-to-end service, with a single point of contact and management. Though our core service remains CE marking, we understand that this is typically just one part of the larger process of finding and importing a US craft.
Unfortunately our independence as CE inspectors does not sit well with direct involvement with the purchase process and as a result we will no longer offer to buy boats for clients (BoatSource). We can however recommend others to assist with the purchase transaction and are happy to do so.
We want to help you identify suitable craft and for this reason much of the knowledge and experience learnt sourcing boats is now presented to you in the format of our 'Find a Boat' pages.
We are increasingly involved in the US, developing particularly strong links with those close to the two key embarkation Ports of Jacksonville (FL) and Baltimore (MD). We are also recruiting inspectors in the US and will be making announcements on these in the very near future.
We believe these changes will help deliver an even better service to our customers.
