RCD Exemptions

There are a small number of exemptions applicable to recreational craft. The most common is proof of use in EEA waters prior to 16/6/1998, but there are others too. In all cases there must be appropriate evidence, which can be tied to the specific craft in question.

As part of our 'free' CE support we are happy to discuss and clarify exemption issues.

In addition, where a claim is validated, we can produce our RCD Exemption Certificate, (click the link for details). For you, the RCD Exemption certificate serves two purposes:

It helps give a buyer confidence that the exemption is valid and not a ruse to avoid the cost of CE marking
It gives the buyer confidence that post-purchase they will have something to show the Port authorities should their CE status ever be questioned.
